The purpose of
the SuperCentres project is to improve the quality of teaching and
learning in the selected schools through the use of Information and
Communication Technologies (ICTs), and increase the number of
students who are proficient ICT users.

Industry-driven
initiative to mobilize volunteers and companies for LAN cabling and
Internet connectivity in schools.

The project provides
training to all involved in education: principals, teachers,
students on how to integrate technology into the classroom at
selected schools.

The 'Phumelela Networks'
project, meaning 'to be successful', will entail the establishment
of three provincial hub sites in the Eastern Cape, Northern Cape and
Gauteng provinces. The partnerships involved provide the possibility
of extending the project to other provinces in South
Africa.

Foundation uses multi-media technology to meet the needs of
educators who are faced with the challenge of implementing
outcomes-based education in local schools with the inherited legacy
of an apartheid education system.

Access to
education means access to a better future: The Commonwealth of
Learning is an intergovernmental organisation created by
Commonwealth Heads of Government to encourage the development and
sharing of open learning/distance education knowledge, resources and
technologies. COL is helping developing nations improve access to
quality education and training.
